The first line of defence is GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ fabrics with GORE® WINDSTOPPER® technology. This is completely windproof and yet highly breathable too. Cold winds are robustly kept out while the sweat you generate when cycling can easily escape. A DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish also adds protection from light rain and damp road spray. No need to pull on a hardshell rain jacket when it's damp. 

Next comes the heavyweight fleece inner. Lining the Windstopper outer, this provides a soft and insulating barrier against the cold. It also deals well with sweat, wicking it away rapidly, while also being quick-drying so dampness doesn't linger. 

The cycling-specific cut keeps the fit trim and flattering but never restrictive. A dropped tail adds extra protection when you're in your riding position while a high collar minimises water and wind ingress at the neck.
