But for that Castelli have increased the durability of these shorts through the use of extremely tough Unlimited Lycra® fabric. It's more abrasion resistant than standard Lycra and resists tears too. Durability is also enhanced via the use of double-layer side panels - it's the old track rider's trick of fabric-sliding-on-fabric should you fall. While these shorts aren't indestructible, should you slide out on a fast gravel corner you're more likely to be able to dust your self down and keep riding rather than having to buy a new pair of shorts. The second layer also makes for easy to reach extra storage pockets on each thigh - complete with covers to keep the contents safe. Speaking of extra storage you'll also find a further two pockets on the lower back.
