The RC9 SPD-SL S-Phyre Road Shoes sit at the top of Shimano's road racing shoe line and have proved a favourite for riders who demand uncompromising stiffness when pushing the pedals. Their carbon sole, rated 12 out of 12 for stiffness, will deliver the raw-power you need to make your competitor's legs hurt and to ensure all your interval sessions and power targets are hit on your road to racing fitness. An extended cleat range also provides more fore and aft adjustment, up to 22mm, to get your bike fit just right.
Shimano Dynalast x Dual Boa® IP1 dials
Making use of Shimano's Dynalast design and a two low-profile Boa® IP1 dials, the RC9s deliver the firm hold, foot stability and an optimized toe-spring section that ensures the most efficient and powerful pedal stroke possible with reduced foot fatigue over long distances. The two Boa IP1 dials also facilitate a precise fit, making the fit of the upper and lower foot easy to adjust independently of each other, even on the go. A low stack-height and external curved heel cup also stabilise the foot and minimise rolling and twisting giving you the ideal platform for smooth pedalling.
One-piece Seamless Upper
Shimano uses a stretch-resistant and highly breathable, one-piece Teijin Avail microfiber synthetic leather for the upper. This perfectly wraps the foot for incredible comfort and reduces sweat retention while MicroVent perforations enhance airflow over the whole foot - ideal for a hot day of racing or training. If you are caught in a rain shower, then drainage holes minimise soggy feet after a downpour.
Cleat Guidance
These Cycling Shoes are compatible with road bike pedal systems that use cleats with 3-bolt standards, such as: Look Delta and Keo, Shimano SPD-SL, Speedplay Light Action, Zero, X-Series (via 3-hole adapter plate), Campagnolo Pro-Fit, Mavic Zxellium, Time Iclic/Xpresso and Time Impact.
