This is no ordinary Lycra skinsuit though. No, Castelli have spent two years perfecting it. Countless hours of testing at the Norwegian Technical University in Trondheim, covering both fabrics and aerodynamics, and refinement through racing it in the World Tour have ensured the Body Paint 4.X is ruthlessly efficient through the air.

Starting with the aero-fit, it's optimised for a time-trial position and with reduced seams, it offers both incredible comfort and slippery airflow. Long legs with flat grip tape provide a smooth transition from suit to skin and the long sleeves with thumb loops maintain an efficient fit. Be warned, this is a suit designed for Pro riders, so expect a second-skin fit, but knocking time off your time trial times is worth it. 

When you take to the TT start line, you'll also benefit from the clear number window to the back. It keeps your race number smoothly in place and out of the wind and there's now no need for safety pins, keeping your best race suit pristine and not disrupting smooth aerodynamics.

When you're tucked in your aero position you'll enjoy on-the-saddle comfort from Castelli's KISS Air2 seat pad. Next to the skin, you'll enjoy the luxury of Castelli's softest-ever surface fabric, delivering immediate comfort. Seamless construction and stretch fit all but eliminate chafing as you push the watts.

Next comes the dual-density, variable-thickness padding. This sees maximum density and thickness across the ischial zone, reduced thickness around the perineum and then minimum thickness at the edges. This is all wrapped up in an anatomically shaped pad for optimal comfort for any distance.
